About the WAC Champions Cup

In the 2008-09 school year the Champions Cup was established to recognize the conference school who finished with the most points earned from the year end standings for each sport in which a champion was named. The concept of the Champions Cup is to recognize every sport, giving them publicity and recognition as each sport has equal importance with respect to overall points. There are currently 22 varsity sports offered at most WAC schools.

Through a sponsorship with Lewis Automotive Group, the conference also recognizes an All-Academic team each spring. This partnership with Lewis Automotive has also allowed the conference to provide leadership training, as well as an opportunity to promote sportsmanship, leadership, and camaraderie among conference athletes and schools. In the 2019-2020 school year, there was no Champions Cup awarded since spring sports were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
